Riding in December

December is cold and very winter like. Fortunately, It had been dry for a little while and I was able to take my mountain bike out for rides.

I finished the 'come back season' in cyclocross racing and I had loads of fun in running those races. The situations were not too bad and I was able to finish all the races. Some races were harder because of bad weather, but they were still fun. I raced against a bunch of people who trained for the season. Still, I was able to hold ground toward the end of the season.

After the season was done, I was back on my mountain bike for some recreation fun. I still had fun riding a mountain which I have ridden for many years. Although changes in trails were minimal, I still need to adapt myself to them. I have riding pretty well and I was cleaning sessions on my xc race bike.

It is interesting to notice that many people are riding the All Mountain bike. I was a little confused about the term because they look like downhill bike of the yester years. Yet, designers and marketers found ways to market long travel design bikes. There is nothing in riding them, but I love my hardtail. I know the obvious advantages of the full suspension, but I rather ride a Hardtail.

I went on a ride on the flat Detla Watershed yesterday and I was surprised that I got a great work out. It was because I raced another hartail rider up a short hill. It was a pretty interesting scene, because the All mountain riders stayed in their granny gears and we cranked up the hill in my mid range. I enjoyed the work out as it was fun. I was able to beat Chad the first time, but it took a lot out of me. I just stayed at Chad's wheel the next time.
